RCASF Hosts One of Its Largest Training Events

What an amazing day for roofing! RCASF Hosts One of Its Largest Training Events, Delivering 50 Safety and Education Sessions to South Florida Roofing Professionals

The Roofing Contractors Association of South Florida (RCASF) proudly hosted a record‑setting education and safety event on March 7, bringing together more than 365 roofing professionals for a full day of training, industry insights, and community engagement with an emphasis on safety.

As an OSHA Alliance partner, RCASF offered 36 classes including 10 in Spanish making this one of the association’s most comprehensive training programs to date. Event Chairs Jim Brauner of Brauner Safety Services and Ray Padron of Latite Roofing were recognized for their leadership, helping train more than 1,288 roofing professionals and supporting a growing culture of safety across the industry.

The day began before sunrise as volunteers welcomed attendees with bilingual assistance and coordinated early‑morning logistics alongside the Fort Lauderdale Marriott staff. Breakfast Sponsor ABC Supply kicked off the day, and Advanced Roofing energized the crowd with a rooftop warm‑up focused on injury prevention.

Beginning at 7:00 AM, attendees selected their sessions covering topics such as quality control, wind uplift, structural connections, and payment protection. Forty‑five industry experts volunteered as instructors, supported by 25 event volunteers who ensured seamless execution.

Technology partners Gulfeagle Supply, Sika Roofing, and Spec Building Materials powered the coordination of all sessions. RCASF also welcomed representatives from the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA), including Mike Silvers and Manny Oyola, Jr., who provided an exclusive preview of the upcoming 2026 Florida Building Code Roofing Changes.

The event concluded with a luncheon sponsored by SOPREMA, followed by a free raffle featuring amazing prizes sponsored by our Raffle Sponsors. Every participant received a framed Certificate of Attendance, provided by ABC Supply.

Photography sponsor Best Roofing documented the day, capturing the energy, professionalism, and collaboration that define this annual initiative. OSHA representatives were onsite offering multilingual safety resources to support workplace protection and awareness.

RCASF Executive Director Bridget Keller expressed gratitude for the association’s dedicated Board of Directors, volunteers, partners, and participants: “This event reflects our shared commitment to education, safety, and excellence in the South Florida roofing community.”
